Introducing Climate Frens DAO

Climate Frens DAO is a group of friends and climate activists uplifting themselves and others, through creative contributions to the climate movement.

DAO members commit to supporting each other’s creative climate work, and we encourage climate frens to collaborate and combine our powers for greater impact.

We believe our creativity can be a powerful form of climate action, so let’s be more creative.

Climate Frens DAO was born from the Climate Friends community, which is a great place to “dip your toes in” as a community member, before diving into the deep end as a DAO member.

There are exactly thirty-three (33) lifetime memberships to the DAO, and there will never be more than that. Memberships are valued at 300 CELO (~$300 USD).

The only way to be a member of the Climate Frens DAO (as of now*) is to hold a Climate Frens DAO lifetime membership NFT.

*In the future, we may offer month-to-month and/or annual subscription memberships with recurring renewals. Founding members of the DAO will decide whether or not we’ll offer additional membership types down the road.

#alpha: membership and participation in the Climate Friends community will be recognized in decisions regarding acceptance into the Climate Frens DAO.

What’s the plan?

💌 August 2022 Founding Members invited to join DAO.

Invitations are sent to a short list (13) of people who’ve been selected for their outstanding contributions to the Climate Friends community.

Those who accept their invitation, receive a complementary (free) lifetime membership NFT - a reward for helping build the community, paving the way for the DAO.

🪂 September 2022 Airdrop lifetime membership NFTs to Founding Members’ wallets.

🎃 October 2022

DAO kickoff with the inaugural meeting of founding members.

🍁 November 2022

Launch the first cohort of climate projects, according to DAO vote.

❄️ December 2022

Begin reviewing applications for additional DAO members

Founding members will review applications collected since launch (Aug) and begin inviting new members on an ongoing basis until all lifetime NFTs are claimed.

Lifetime memberships cost* 300 CELO (just under $300 USD at the time of this publication). *Sponsored memberships are available, for accepted applicants who can’t afford the cost of membership.
